Resort Overview
Just 2.5 hours from Perth in the Margaret River region, Dunsborough Resort & Spa transports you to a world of luxury and indulgence. Set among exquisite landscaped gardens sweeping down to the shores of Geographe Bay, the resort’s extensive facilities include the spectacular Escape Day Spa, a floodlit tennis court, outdoor pool and spa, fully equipped fitness center, volleyball court, children’s playground and barbecue area. The on-site restaurant, Toby’s Restaurant & Bar, features an extensive alfresco dining area where you can enjoy sumptuous fresh regional produce complemented with a wide selection of premium wines.
This region is blessed with a stunning array of natural attractions worth visiting year-round. The serene aqua water of Hamelin Bay provides the perfect ambiance for relaxing in the sun. Take to the water for swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving out on the shipwrecks. Large stingrays often grace these waters and can be hand-fed. If you have energy to burn there are many more water sports in the area, such as water skiing, surfing and kite-surfing — or improve your handicap on one of the world’s most scenic golf courses in Augusta. Stroll a short section of the Cape to Cape Track, stretching from Cape Leeuwine to Cape Naturaliste, and during spring enjoy the countryside as it comes alive with Australian wildflowers.

Popular Attractions
Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse
Mainland Australia’s tallest lighthouse is situated at the most southwesterly tip of Australia, standing at the point where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. A famous maritime landmark and important meteorological site, the tower stands 39 meters high from ground level and 56 meters above sea level. Its piercing beam has an intensity of 1 million candles and shines over the surrounding sea and landscape for 26 nautical miles. Guided tours are conducted daily at the Lighthouse. A visitor center, café and retail shop are contained within the Lighthouse precinct.
Caves
Along the spine of the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge and beneath soaring Karri forest lie more than 150 caves. These caves belong to a series of complex and fragile Karst systems, which are landscapes formed by the rapid drainage of water underground. The Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association operates three spectacular show caves: Lake, Mammoth and Jewel. These caves are easily accessible, each with their own story to tell and decorated with their own unique formations.
Busselton Jetty and Underwater Observatory
The Busselton Jetty, with more than 300 individual marine species, is host to an awe-inspiring “forest” of vividly-colored tropical and subtropical corals, sponges, fish and invertebrates. It is described as Australia’s greatest artificial reef. The Busselton Jetty Underwater Observatory is one of Western Australia’s most popular eco-tourism icons. Allowing you to descend eight meters below sea level to view an amazing marine world of schooling fish and tropical coral, the Underwater Observatory is a favorite with people of all ages!
Wardan Aboriginal Cultural Centre
The Wardandi people are the traditional custodians of this region and have an affinity with the sea and multitude of local caves. It is through the caves that the afterlife is reached and where the sea spirit Wardandi is found. The Wardandi people along with the other local Bibbulmum and Noongah Aborigines have a well-defined culture, richly endowed with music, art and legend.
