As 2008 comes to a close, I have the pleasure of looking back on a fantastic year for The Club. Our teams remained focused on delivering great service to you, our owners, and we welcomed six new resorts into the WorldMark network this year. Your new vacation destinations range from WorldMark’s first resort in Texas to everyone’s favorite playground (near Disneyland Resort), and include varying options in between.

If you haven’t yet visited one of these new resorts, check your calendar and book your reservation in order to experience one of these fantastic new destinations. The following resorts joined WorldMark, The Club this year:

While the Resort Operations team was busy opening up these new resorts, our Resort Refurbishment & Design team was working diligently throughout the year to maintain and refurbish the existing resorts. In addition to completing 17 major projects in 2008 (more than $750,000 each), the team completed hundreds of smaller refurbishment projects as well. In fact, you will be pleased to know we are introducing the new Beautyrest® Signature™ SUTHERLAND™ PLUSH mattress to WorldMark, which will eventually replace all existing mattresses as they meet their useful life.

2008 also ushered in a renewed focus on green initiatives for your Club’s management team. Pilot programs are running in many resorts to test the efficiency and savings of energy conservation products, including solar pool heaters, tankless water heaters and HVAC management systems. Additionally, compact fluorescent lighting, low-flow showerheads and Energy Star appliances are being introduced to resorts.
